Youth Advocate Program is one of the key agencies in New Jersey working with young people and families with the most complex needs in the communities.YAP is one of the key agencies in New Jersey working with young people and families with the most complex needs in the communities. YAP primarily contracts with the divisions of the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) and some additional services are provided through individual counties, serving over 600 youth per week.

Service Overview

YAP services focus on intensive advocacy,case management, mentoring, family support, life skills training, anger management/coping skills training, and supported work programs with youth and teen fathers.YAP can tailor these services for those at risk of out of home placement, detention, incarceration, truancy,gang involvement, and criminal activity.
